Hello everybody!
This week was pretty dang good. oh and Happy birthday to ME! Im so happy to be 20 pretty soon. Im sick of lying to people and telling them im 21 so i can get into clubs and stuff. So im getting closer and closer! hah not really.
This wednesday we had trade-offs which sucks. I hate them with a passion, mostly because all my comps have been awesome. I went down to grand haven and it was kinda lame. We both fell asleep during studies for like and hour and a half! I had drool running down my neck! Thats never happened before! We just did a lot of pointless walking around trying to find service and stupid stuff, inefffective stuff mostly. So that was a waste of a day. but im back now and all is good! We had a sweet lesson with this kid named Hunter LaNore, he is one of our investigators and he has had a cast on so he couldnt get baptized. But its off now! So February 7th..if thats saturday...Is his Baptism day! Woohooo! And it was way cool because he had two of his friends there and they started asking questions about baptism. One was like "doesnt baptism take away your sins?" and so we got to teach them both about it and now they say they want to get baptized! So hopefully we can meet their families sometime soon and teach them all! Thats a good potential baptism list if you ask me! I want to baptize a whole family more than anything else on my mission. That would be the most awesomest thing ever. I told the two kids Jason and Tim that if they came to church i would give them a tie. They were both asking how to tie one and they said "i dont have a tie" I love when people say that, because i get to bribe them into coming to church!
In other news. One of the members in our ward died. She was a really sweet black lady named Shirley Payne, she had us come over and teach her every week and she loved missionaries. She went on and on about them to her friends and family. so that was really sad. we went over there to see her, because we had met someone door knocking(by the way, door knocking the ghetto rocks. Muskegon Heights FTW) and thought we would drop by to see her and her daughter answered and told us what had happened. It was so unexpected, she had a heart attack when she was walking home from the store. So that was really sad. But her daughter and son wanted to talk to us. So we went over to their house and talked with them for a few hours and got to know them and talked all about Shirley and we started teaching them from the BoM and it gave them a lot of comfort. They want us to come over every week. So maybe they will want to be taught. We are so blessed to have the knowledge that we have. That this life isnt the end. Its only the beginning. To know that when we die it is sad, but its also a miraculous thing, its part of the plan that was established before any of us were born. And it was good for me to be able to share some comfort with those humble people. The Lord works in mysterious ways, maybe by Shirleys death the rest of her family can come into the gospel, i guess we will find out. I love the work, i love sharing what i know with others i love the people and hope that i can be an instument in Gods hands and bring some of his children back to him. I love you guys and thank you for everything you have every helped me with.
